Eddy,
What kind of sound card do you have in your computer?

This is what Skilz was talking about:

This would let you plug from your DJ mixer right into the computer.

However, going to a mixing board first makes life simpler. You hook the mixing board to your computer once, then plug whatever you want into the board (mics, CD players, keyboards, etc).

Good luck!
heyy... question: so you are saying that if I hook the into my computer from my 2 channel mixer than i hook my cd players into the mixer I can record whatever normally would come out of the speakers onto my computer??

so it would be like

Cd players ---MIXER-----AMP-----SPEAKERS

except that it would record that onto your computer??

ALSO what program could you use to record it?? thanks

thats what i use and it works like a charm as long as your not close to the tv. if your close to the tv you get alot of hum.
give these pieces of freeware a try

Quartz AudioMaster Freeware

Anvil Studio

Just go to Download.com and do a search for "Recording Software".

I will strongly suggest Soundforge. For Windows, there is no better stereo editor.

Since im such a fanatic to this system, if you're interested in multitrack digital audio, give ProTools FREE a spin. The only downside to it is that it doesn't support the "Modern" operating systems (Win 98/ME and Mac OS 9).

Good luck.
