sparkle or mini gem

At a gig last night i found to american dj sparkles on the floor behind the stage, so i though i would use them. i own 2 mini gems now i know these lights are the same wattage but the sparkle seemed to be much brighter than the mini gem. does any one have a reoson for this?

ones color the other is white. when you color light you lose lumens
