Have you looked at the SD Video? It answers all your questions. If you dont have one call 800 322 6337 ask for support ,they will send a video out for free they just need your serial number on the SD

u can always go to the manufacuters website and download the dmx table...u shouldve waited for the concepts to come out

The fade times are covered in both the Show and the Chase portions of the video. You just set them when you are programming the Show or Chase.

u cant change it on the fly?

first to address the issue with the mx-4s being in thier already yes they are, hold on i will plug mine in now to show you exactly what to do...

ok ok im back press "menu"
the first thing that comes up is "press enter to choose fixtures"
so press enter now.
first thing you should see is "fixture 1" hit the right arrow key to get you to the lower level of the screen, first thing you should see is "no fixture" if not then dont worry. hit the data button so you can use the jog wheel, from the "no fixture" you should turn the wheel 112 times before you hit "M***** mx1 mx4". then set your fixtures up with this profile.

now to change fade and speed times while on the run, when your in a chase or a scene you can do this by hitting the fade button or the speed button. they are rite to the right of the jog wheel. once you hit those buttons you can change them quickly with the jog wheel.

the show designer is a awesome controller for the mx4's and with the factory chases or "macros" it is so easy to program scenes with having to deal with a step by step do it yourself program.
remember if you dont see any of what i said above, then please download the new software ver 2.08 and throw it in your controller from your your pc.
also go to the elationlighting.com forum, thise is a show designer forum by it self and you might get quicker help through thier.

thanks billy d i had no idea that elation has a forum. unfortunately my mac dosent have a serial port so that isnt an option. do u know any other light that i can program as an mx 4? like my xp3's are set as spiral scans i think or something like that
