I have created scenes using Martin CX-2, Martin Acrobat and Min Wash.
I switch from light to light, then to black out scene. All works fine and then all of a sudden the program freezes and the following error comes up:

Runtime Error! Program: C\myDMX\esa.exe

And it shuts down.

What happened? What can I do?

When I reopen the program I have lost all my scenes.

Well the software wont's save your work automatically. There is no auto save function. So save often. Also how did you in stall the software? From a CD or from the website? Which version of my dmx are you running? If you installed from the website did you extract the .EXE file to the desktop before launching the install set up? Or did you run it from the .zip folder? Let me know.
Sincerely,
Oh there is a newer version than that. Click on the link at the bottom of my signature. Take you straight to the my dmx product page and then you can download the latest version. Should be the March 2009 version. Also read my above post for good instructions on installing from the internet. About the .zip file. Make sure it is on the desktop and not still in the .zip folder when you go to launch the .EXE file.
Sincerely,
I downloaded the March file. Saved it. Opened it and clicked on the "adj" file and installed it from there. Put nothing on the desktop. When I opened the program it was dated as March 2009. I haven't had time to try the program yet. I imagine this is what you were talking about? How current are the profiles in the update?

What happened to the last version that it kept shutting down? Will the update solve the program? Are there new features in the update?
You were supposed to move the file that is in the zip folder to the desktop then install. Might wanna do that again. So uninstall then reinstall with the exe file on the desktop NOT in the zip folder.
The profiles are updated. There are some newer ones in there that I made for ADJ chauvet and elation. This version of my dmx has updated drivers and bug fixes. You can also use this version with a 64 bit OS if you need too. But if you hbe a 32 bit OS no need to worry.
Let me know of you have anymore questions.
Sincerely,
When I clicked on the link. The requester opens asking if I want to open or save. I click on open and a second browser window opens but there is nothing in the browser window. However down at the bottom left of the screen it says it's downloading. When the downloading is complete, there is nothing there. Nothing in the browser window. Nothing on my desktop. Nothing on my drive.

I go back in and choose save this time (Not open) and a file down loads called March 2009 onto my drive.

When I click on the March 2009 the only file there was "adj" and when I clicked on it, it started to install the software. There was not exe file there. There was no ZIP file.
OK, detailed instructions to follow:

Pack up your computer in the original box and packing.
Bring your receipt.
Go back to the place of purchase.

Tell them you need a refund because you're too stupid to operate a computer.

Problem resolved.

Now onto a useful solution:

The file that you get from the web site is in fact a .ZIP file. You want to SAVE this file to your computer, preferably in your MyDocuments folder.

Go to your folders options and VIEW and DE-SELECT the option of "hide extensions for known file types" and you'll clearly see the .ZIP show up on the end of the file name.

Double click to open the .ZIP file that you downloaded. Inside you see the ADJ directory.

Drag the folder that you see inside the opened .ZIP file. It is called "mydmx-march 2009". Drag that to someplace convenient. I disagree with Jingles as to where to put it, but that is a trivial concern. The desktop is fine. I would keep it in "My Documents". Either option is fine as long as you can find it to do the installation.

If Dragging and Dropping is too complicated for you, once you've opened the mydmx-march2009.zip file, you can COPY the "mydmx-march 2009" directory and then PASTE it somewhere convenient, such as the desktop.

Open the MyDMX-march 2009 directory, which you've most likely dragged to your desktop. Inside you see the "adj.exe" file. That is your installer. NOW you are ready to install.

Last bit of usefule advise:
FIRST pants, THEN your shoes.

(Yes, I would say this to your face, right as I hand you an invoice for $300)
