Mydmx interfacing with controller

Ok the only sort of live controller you can use with my dmx is a midi console. I recommend a MIDI Con from elation. MIDI Con By Elation Professional.
Or some sort of HTP or LTP with keyboard triggers. Let me know if this helps.

So the elation operator 192 i have wouldn't be of any use?

Actually there is another option. DM-2512R DMX Merger. But this solution only does Merge, HTP, or Backup.

If you do Merge you can use the set up like this: MyDMX able to control the par leds then your operator 192 able to control the moving head or whatever is going to be your spot.

But if you do not want to do this route, your only option is a midi controller like Jingles suggested and using the LTP buttons under the faders in MyDMX

Thanks ksound,what I am going to be doing at this moment is getting 16 Par 64 Led's. I have the Elation Operator 192 I came across the MyDmx software and thought it would be great to make scenes for live band use. I don't have any kind of movers yet. But I wanted to use this so as to run the scenes myself and be able to use the Operator to override a front light for a particular spot. I thought it would work because it has midi I truly thank you for your replies please keep them coming.

Well there is no way for you to interface the DMX op with the my dmx. But i firmly believe if you use my dmx with a midi controller like the midi con or even a korg nano kontrol you should be able to achieve what you want to do. The dmx op will let you over ride a led par can to use as a spot. As your scene or show is playing you need to just select the fixture button where the led spot that you want to over ride and then simply adjust the faders to your liking for your spot. Nice, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I played around this past weekend with MyDmx and made up quite a few scenes. Now in using say the Korg Nano do I have to change anything in the software? Reason I ask there are some scenes I used all lighting

Nope. I have a korg nano kontrol. It works good for my dmx. Just make sure you download the korg editor software and set the kontrol to it's default settings. All you need to do is right click scenes or faders and select link to midi controller and once it says waiting for midi command move a fader or press a button. Easy as pie.

Elation makes a DMX merge device, allowing 2 controllers to control lighting. There is some sort of option to determine which one becomes the master. I would be very careful reading the manual and understanding FULLY what you intend to try to accomplish if you expect to make this work properly.

There is no "bump" capability in MyDMX, but you can emulate that by re-programming the buttons on the Korg NanoKONTROL to not be CC controllers and be note controllers instead. It's easy using the software for the nanokontrol.

You can definately use the faders to control fading functions, as well as the knobs. With the 4 banks, that gives you 36 knobs and 36 faders total(9/bank). You can also assign the same fader to multiple DMX channels. So, let's say you want your 8 LED cans to fade up, you can set their fader channels to 1 fader on the nanokontrol. I've done this myself. Works good too!

You can also assign scenes to keyboard keys.

I like to have manual control over my fog machines for shows. I assign my hazer to a knob(since it's not touched as much) and the ground fogger and the regular fogger to faders.
