With so many of us using custom profiles, those we've modified, made ourselves or provided via Jingles(or others), it gives me some concern about installing a new version of MyDMX that may wish to over-write the library.
Forgive me for speaking out of turn.
1: For ALL users, I strongly suggest you make your own profiles directory in the library and place ALL the profiles you use in there. This is safe, smart and easy to deal with. Move a copy, not the original.
2: For MyDMX, give an option to NOT install profiles. DO have this option to install the library be selected as a default though as you should assume the install is for a fresh installation.
Back-up your library, shows, stages and objects onto a USB stick and keep it current!
Have fun. I leave in an hour and 20 minutes for a show and I hope the latest MyDMX performs as it should! The April 2010 release really didn't make me happy. Either way, I'm sticking with MyDMX even after I upgrade to Compu Show once I can wrap my head around it(starting January 1, I dive into Compu Show!)
