If your venue has a lot of WIFI signals around it could be making your connection to the tablet really bad, if you are using an android device, you can hardwire the connection with a OTG cable.
Otherwise bring a small windows laptop with you and run hardware manager on it and pick a different WIFI channel than the one currently in use in hardware manager.
I'm attaching a document another user made to help with situations like this.

Im so glad I found this.  The connection problem with this DMX-GO is such a pain in the ass.  So after the initial setup with the router with the Ethernet cable and the dmx-go unit with hardware manager, im assuming i will not need to connect the router to ethernet at the venues everytime as this doesnt need to be connected to the internet correct?  Just plug the router and the dmx go into the electric plug connect the dmx go to the router wifi and thats it?

The linked file seems to indicate that a separate computer is needed to use an external router. I've read it several times and still don't quite get it.

I went through something very similar with my Soundcraft Ui digital mixers, an onboard router that was prone to interference (and disconnects that required rebooting the mixer) and a consensus that the most reliable connection was with an external router that used an Ethernet connection option in the mixer's settings. It looks like the MyDMX GO can't be rigged to communicate with an external router without an intermediary computer?

I learned a lot about networking sorting that out and have used the external router setup reliably for hundreds of shows. I don't really need the part of the linked file that explains router setup, but the section on connecting through a PC makes me suspect that the MyDMX GO can't log into a private LAN by itself?

As I explained in my first post here (just approved and up) my external router has a 2.4ghz network that I don't use for the audio mixers, and I'd like to use it to connect the MyDMX GO to my control tablets. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like I need another computer to connect the MyDMX GO to an external router?
