Mini TRI ball question

I just purchased an ADJ Mini TRI ball so I could have a mirror ball effect in my portable setup. I noticed in the instructions that it states "no vertical hanging". Presumably, this means I can't hang it sideways. However, most of the pictures and videos, including the ones on the official site, show it being used sideways. Is this a mistake in the instructions or a misleading demonstration? I was planning on having this light upside down on a T-stand for an upcoming dance and I'm not crazy about how low the top row of lights projects. Would it damage the fixture to have it running sideways (or at least diagonally) intermittently for a period of three or four hours?

i would say it is safe to hang it vertically. the unit does not have enough weight to damage the motor while it is turning.
