Hi, you need to purchase the FULL license to use anything MIDI.

Question - I have downloaded MyDMX 3.0 to learn to program to help my 13 year old son out.  I do not have a registered license or hardware, but he does. However on my laptop, I did try to connect a midi foot pedal to see if I could get it to work and respond in the Easy View.  I have confirmed via MIDO-OX app that I am receiving data, but no response at all in MyDMX. Am I to assume that the software just ignores the commands until registered?  No message or anything about upgrading?

Hi, with no hardware connected you will be in DEMO mode and the software may or may not use MIDI in certain aspects, but to use midi you just need to plug in the hardware with the FULL license on it and all should work.

Thanks Jingles.  As soon as my son is home from school, I will try it.  I know he is registered as I paid the money for it. I just didn't realize the hardware worked as a dongle license, which is actually a very nice feature! I will give that a try in a few hours and if it does not work for some reason then I will post back.

OK, No dice.  I was able to get the Midi-Watcher to work and I can see I need to use Program Change with my device.  Currently it is sending in midi channels 1 and 2, with the midi number corresponding to the bank number.  Also, to be safe, I purchased the full version even though he had the express one. Right, the FULL version license is what will allow the MIDI to be used, the express version would not have enabled it. It should work if you use the Learn midi option and the Full license is detected.

What is Learn Midi Option?  Yes it says full license active when I start it.

I tried what’s in the video. No dice. I saw in another thread that Program Change commands will not trigger scenes. Do you know if this is correct? That what my Ground Control sends.
