Hi folks, I work with a small pro audio company in Canada. We have picked up a few of the Mega Bar Pro RGBA for testing.

When using my DMX 2 in 32 Channel mode there seems to be a lack of control over the slices( 8 led banks that 32 channel mode creates for the Mega Bar RGBA) within the fixture. The FX engines only function on the first slice/bank of LED's. I was expecting to be able to apply at the very least a single FX engine that would apply to each slice. Is there anyone out there that knows how to make this work. It really feels like an issue with the MyDMX 2 software. Or possibly a profile issue.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

Hi Troy, yes it does seem to only be using the first set of RGBA channel when using just the color effects. I'll have to talk with a few people to discuss this and see if it is intended in the program or if we cna fix this.

One work around (I know none of you expected to have to do work arounds in my dmx 2.0 so I apologize for that) I can split up the mega bar RGBA 34 ch profile into a profile per section of RGBA LEDs. So you could use 7x generic RGBA profiles and then i'd make a profile for the RGBA then shutter and dimmer to close it off. You could then take all the squares and line em up in a line and select them and then use that color effects. a little cumbersome, but not grossly. If you would like, let me know and I'll send over the two profiles for you to patch in.
Sincerely,
Hey Jingles,
Thanks for the tip, it works but it is a little time consuming and would be a real nightmare in a live event situation with tight load in/set up times. If you have profiles other than the generic ones that can be found on the website, and are more suited to the job I would love to have them. I really hope ADJ is in this game for the long term and corrects this issue. Most of our clients and staff are not gonna like this fix. Gonna have to kill a few more hours and see if I can accomplish the visuals I was expecting.

Thanks for your time and efforts.

Troy
I just got 6 MegaBar RGBA's to use at church with mydmx2. I can't find a profile for the mega bars anywhere. I'm using a generic rgba at the moment which controls the whole bar. I'd REALLY like to be able to use the full capabilities of these fixtures. Can anyone point me in the proper direction? Thank you.

Did you try this get well?
Hi Jingles, sorry about the slow response.

If I remember correctly this method did expand the functionality of the fixture but still did not allow full control over all the functions and was rather clunky to work with. I realize this is budget gear but I still expect more!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there any timeline on the updated software for the myDMX2 or an updated profile for the Mega Bar Pro RGBA. The last version of the myDMX2 PC software I installed seems to rather unpredictable at this point. Curious to know if I need to update computer OS to actually run the software glitch free.
