matrix effect help

new user and newbie question alert

Love the mydmx 3 interface which I'm using in my home studio to learn a little about lighting (and add some atmosphere to my guitar playing.) I have got stuck however and can't seem to move forwards with using the very powerful effects features in mydmx 3.

I created my own profile for a U'king moving head which seems to work fine - until I try using the matrix and pixel effects. What's happening is that the effect is mapping onto my dimmer channel and not the colour channel. I can see for example a gradient effect acting on the dimmer but of course I want it acting on the colour.

Is there a way to direct the effect at a specific channel? (as you can with curve effects) or is it an error in my fixture definition where I need to specify which channel is my colour channel?

Any help much appreciated.

My u'King uses a colour wheel rather than RGB channels. Still hoping I can kind of make this work?
