So, I work with this professional wrestling company in New England and we have some lights laying around our gym. I, pretty much run the production aspect of the company and want to start using lighting at our events. The stuff we have is mostly cheap, starter dj stuff plus some par cans. All that the controller really needs to do is turn the stuff on and off. But, slowly we will be upgrading to some DMX lighting.

I don't really want to have to keep buying different controllers, and need to do this the most cost effective way possible (the budget is very very low).

So my question is, what controller would you recommend that is good for basic turning on and off of lights, and can also be used to control DMX lighting?

Thanks in advance,
Ricky

I've worked with Pro Wrestlers. It doesn't take much to make them happy at that level, or their fans.

The DMX Operator 192 is more than sufficient. If you document, you can make scenes or chases for specific wrestlers. Just make sure you light the ring evenly with a good sharp white? I've seen too many guys get seriously hurt due to poor lighting. Colors for entrances is great and all, but put it to white for the action.

Heck, if you read the DMX Operator 192 manual and then use some MIDI to sync, depending on your scene programming, you can put the entrance music in say Pro Tools and then have a totally synced entrance with the imported MIDI track. That would be cool.

Go nuts, have fun. Get paid. I stopped working with wrestling because the money sucked.
