Alright guys, so I have an Ultratec/Le Maitre Radiance Hazer that I have always used on stand alone but now I would like to use it with MyDMX. The problem I am having is that I can't figure out how to setup the hazer to go into DMX mode. It has a three button control but I would like to know the combo to set it for DMX. The manual doesn't really tell me a whole lot. Just in case here is the link to manual itself so maybe you can help me.

Also I wanted to know if someone already has the profile for this hazer or if someone can make me one. It is a three channel. I don't know why but this hazer is getting to me today. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Kris B.

Ok seems to me you will need a couple things first.

First you will need: 1 each
DMX 3pin xlr male to 5pin xlr female
DMX 3pin xlr female to 5pin xlr male

Ok next here is the fun part quoted from the manual it self:
quote:
DMX Operation
3) Select the desired DMX address for the hazer. Note that the hazer occupies two sequential addresses. The selected address is the Haze - rate and the selected address + 1 is the fan speed. Control is from 0 - 100% with ‘0’ turning the output off. Insert the DMX line into “DMX in” connector.
4) Plug the unit into a suitable power source. Turn the main power switch on and it will illuminate if power is present. The valid DMX light will be solid when DMX signal is present. The unit requires about 7 minutes to heat before haze can be produced.
Ok you were saying it has a 3 push button system for the address? Ok here it goes:

Address is set up like this FROM LEFT TO RIGHT while facing the unit's back panel.
First number is Hundreds (Far Left)
Second number is Tens (Middle)
Third Number is Ones (Far Right).

From here you can select anything from 001 to 511 because this unit uses two channels.
There are pre-made DMX adaptors if you want to go that route. The 5-pin connector is somewhat speciality, so you might not find it in stores readily. They are still relatively easy to get, and you can always order stuff from dealers who think outside the box. ADJ and Elation sell the AccuCable XLR-type connectors for their AccuCable wiring, so that's where I would start. If you need a dealer to buy from, contact me via my web site and I'll givce you the information to the guy I buy my lighting gear from.
Alright guys finally was able to get out the house and get to work and test this hazer out. We were snowed in the last two days.

Chris, we actually have a good audio/lighting store here in the city called HB Electronics that makes any kind of cables you need. They had tons of them already pre-made. I was able to pick them up no hassle. Thanks though for the heads up.

Ksound_tech, that was very informative and everything worked fine just like how you explained. Thank you. I found that the hazer will not work and go into DMX mode unless you have something plugged into the DMX in and out. If I would have not bought the 5-pin DMX out cable today I would have been in lala land.

Jingles, the profile you made me a few months ago worked perfectly fine. Thanks a million.

Thanks everyone,

Kris B.
