MICRPHONE- INPUT OR OUTPUT DEVICE?
MIXER- INPUT OR OUTPUT DEVICE?
I would just like to know if these 2 things are input or output devices. I will try and think of some more i have questions on

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but a microphone would be an input device, and a mixer would be an I/O (input/output) device.

well, a mic is an input device untill u stick it in the earphone jack.... then it becomes an output device

Would that work, If you put a microphone plug into a head phone point? Would you get sound out of the mic?

Yes it works, No it's not recommended. Most people discover this by accident.

The same is true of headphones. If your mic dies on you, you now have a backup.

No by all means go ahead and do that but you'll look kinda stupid with a microphone in your ear whilst talking into your headphones.
