tell me something, i have used my q-spand mixer maybe 8 times, yet it's power supply is shot. i was curious to know if I need to have this done by american audio, how much it should cost, whether it is even worth fixing (in other words, should i expect another failure after another 8 gigs).

The problem happened shortly after i started hearing a hum in my speakers (a loud hum, much louder and distinct hum than a 60HZ ground hum). Then a few minutes later there was a pop noise, and thereafter, no mixer.

I would love input; thanks in advance.

Sababun,
Welcome to the forum. No that is not a common problem. You said you only used the mixer 8 times...right? So I assume it's under 2 years old. If so it is still under warranty, and there is no cost to repair the mixer. The only cost to you will be your shipping to the company (note: the company pays for the return shipping, and will return it the same way received....ie, if you overnight it to them, once the repair is done they will overnight it back.)

Here call support at 800 322 6337, and explain to them your situation and problem. They will then give you a RMA#, and instructions on returning the unit.
