Well the nature of using the same DMX address on multiple fixtures of the same type (Say 4 par 64 LED PRO's) the idea behind the duplicate address is all of them will respond to the same dmx channels so there is no way to control them individually. Does this make sense? Could you maybe elaborate on what you are trying to do and what gear you have? That will help us help you out tons. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Ok you might have answered my question. I will be using 4 venu par 64 led fixtures inside of four pillars on stage. When I set the scene, I only want to have to deal with moving the sliders once, and it will set the color, intesity, etc on all four.

So in mydmx, do I just add the fixture once, and then set the dip switches on those four fixtures to all be the same (as what mydmx shows me to set that one fixture)?

p.s. I REALLY appreciate the prompt feedback BTW
Something I've recently discovered- if you click a channel (say a red channel of your first fixture) then hold the shift button, you can move the slider and all "red" channels will mirror you.

This might give you the best of both worlds- only having to adjust colors once for all four, but maintaining the ability to independently control all four should the need arise.

You might also explore the color manager tool. With a swipe of the mouse, you can assign specific colors to any or all of your fixtures without even bothering with RGB sliders- the program does it for you!

In the end, unless you're running low on DMX channels, it seems better to individually address everything. MyDMX has great shortcuts to help speed up the process of managing multiple fixtures while maintaining the flexibility to operate them independently.
