So I am attempting to use my DCD PRO 1000 today and one side of the cd deck just wont read. tried everything and nothing is working...compressed air, cd cleaner, different cd's and its not the cd because it reads and plays in the other deck.

now ive had this unit since about may of this year and ive had small problems with it off and on. at first i thought it was just me since they would go away at some time but im convinced that the unit is definitely malfunctioning in some way. just yesterday the stop button wouldnt work and the eject button wouldnt work in the same side while it attempted to read a cd.

I am going to see if the store it was purchased at will be able to send me a new one. I dont think its fair for me to spend money on a product and spend more money for me to have the unit shipped by overnight only to experience problems with it and american dj to then tell me that i must spend even more money to have the unit shipped back to them so that they can fix their problem. At this rate its almost $900 that im spending for a unit that is priced at $700. Seems like I could have gotten a competitors machine for the price I am going to end up paying for my dcd 1000.

im just glad that i dont have any parties to do this weekend. cause i would be out of work for the weekend.

I need a drink......

McGyver, that's why unfortunately you should have gotten it through Clipuptags when he offered. Being so close he could have gotten it rectified for you with no shipping charges occured by you. Well as they say hind site is 50/50, so do as Skilz suggested and let Joey (ie. Support) help you out. ADJ always wants to satisfy their customers. BTW, I'm not to far from you, so if you want me to come over and talk to your DCD, so it won't be a "HIGHLY UPSET DCD" anymore, I'm a phone call away.....lol j/k
McGyver,,,Don't fret, you will be looked after, and be happy, trust me. I bought 3 decks myself, the PRO 240, PRO 300, and a PRO 400. I ran into some minor problems with my PRO 300 after a year or so. I have been looked after and am very happy with the product now. Even after experiencing a problem with one of my decks, that would not cause me to switch to another brand. ADJ stand behind their products.

stevie ray (dont take this the wrong way) but just to correct you. I could not have gotten the unit from clipuptags when i needed it. I was told that no store would have the units since they had just arrived at adj and werent shipped out yet to any outlets but I still got my dcd 1000 when i needed it from another store who had just gotten them in. I think even the guys in the forum were surprised i got it as well.

hopefully another dcd 1000 wont need talking to stevie ray so ill wait and see.

and to THA DOGG: a problem with the deck wouldnt necessarily cause me to switch to another brand. but you have to understand the frustration, nervousness, & anger i was feeling when i realized that my unit definitely has a serious problem somewhere after all its brand new. Reputations could have been on the line if I was at a party. I know you know where Im coming from anyitme something brand new has problems you always get nervous. I am glad to see them stand behind their products.

Ill keep everyone posted
