Well, first off, you can tell I'm up late working. But that's nt relevant.

Check out where esa.exe is attempting to access the internet. Why would it need to do that? Clearly, I've used MyDMX without any sort of network access and it works fine.

Perhaps the developers have an explanation. Personally, I'm leaning towards some sort of goofy mis-interpretted error.

Also note the eexclusion rules too, which tend to support esa.exe accessing the internet for no reasons. But again, I don't totally trust Norton 360.

Note: This won't stop me from using MyDMX unless network access becomes required, which would really hose me bad since I disable my wifi when doing shows, and don't connect via Cat5 either(no router or network used at my events currently outside of Aviom A-net and that's an input unit to an output unit only).

Since you've been the one announcing updates, it would seem that there are 3 logical courses of action here:

1: Of course, continue to post that "hey, we have an update, get it here" stuff that you've been doing.

2: Make sure version and release dates are on the ADJ site page for MyDMX.

3: Remove the update polling IF that is in fact what it is doing. It's never found any updates. This may be a legacy thing left over when they were making the MyDMX product that got overlooked.

Hey, it's not like I'm going to stop using MyDMX any time soon. But if I get a scope, I'm definately going to sniff this one out. Even with the supposed "limitations" that MyDMX restricts itself to, I still want to see the product as stable as possible with as few issues as can be done.
That's nice to know. I have no issue with such checks, but it seems pointless to go to the internet. What if I am not online? Clearly, MyDMX has worked fine regardless of my network status.

I worked on MyDMX for over an hour last night. I had to made 200 tweaks to a scene because I did it wrong the first time.

(It has a moving head sequence, and the director wants a stage side to wash up from 0-255, while the other side to dim from 255 to 128, so I had to do these in steps. Not easy, but went well. More of a time waster).

I just hope I got the beacon crap right.....
I figured it out. It wants to go online for the help functions, or at least check.

I don't see why it bothers. There doesn't appear to be online help.

Please suggest to the developers change this feature to make help available locally.

Also, for others: download the manual and keep in convenient. Serious, you never know when and if you'll need it.
