Hi

I know there were similar post a while back, but looks like it hasn't been updated, so I need further knowledge on this issue.

I have bought MEGA Panel and DMX operator.

I would like to set the Megapanel color to go from RED > Yellow > White > Yellow > Red,

and then loop back again. Of course, all in slight color gradation with subtle speed change,

Both units are connected, I was able to playaround with 3 channel mode.(RGB)

Now I need to know how to program, record, and play.

thanks!

Welcome to the forums toshitoshi,

This is really simple.
Keep your light in 3 channel mode for simplicity.

Program Your Scenes

On your operator press and hold the "program" button for 3 seconds. All the leds should flash (on your board).

Now press the fixture 1 button (or whatever fixture your MEGA Panel is set to) and set it to red light.

Now hit the MIDI/REC button and then release it.

Then hit the scene 1 button. Scene 1 has now been set.

Now repeat the process two more times except for scene 2 set it to yellow light and for scene 3 do white light.

When your all done setting those three scenes press and hold the program button for 3 seconds again.

Now you can press scene 1's button to view it and also for scene 2 and 3 just press their respective buttons to view those scenes.

You following me so far? Good!

Program Your Chase

Press and hold the program button for 3 seconds until all leds flash.

Now select chase 1 by pressing its button.

Now press the scene 1 button. You should see your light respond to that scene by turning red.

Now press the MIDI/REC button. All leds should flash three times.

Now to the exact same thing except press scene 2 then MIDI/REC.

After all the leds flash, do it again except with scene 3.

After that do scene 2 then 1.

Now your done programming that chase! Press and hold the program button until all the leds flash.

View Your Hard Work

Press chase 1.

Now press AUTO/DEL. Your chase should start scrolling through all the colors.

Using the speed fader and Fade Time fader set the chase to the right speed you like and use the fade to make the color change gradual.

There you go, you are done!!!

I hope this helps you out!!!

TO RECAP:

1. Press Program until leds flash

2. Select Fixture 1

3. Set it to RED light

4. Hit MIDI/REC

5. Repeat 3 + 4 to set Scene 2 to YELLOW and Scene 3 to WHITE

6. Press Program until leds flash

7. Press Scene 1,2,and 3 to view your scenes

8. Press Program until leds flash

9. Select Chase 1

10. Press Scene 1

11. Press MIDI/REC

12. Repeat 10 + 11 except instead press scene 2

13. Repeat again and do scene 3

14. Repeat and do Scene 2

15. Repeat one last time and do Scene 1

Hey, jthtiger

thanks, for your kind how to's,
I've tried it a few days ago, per your direction, and it worked out great! once i was into it, I wanted to try something a bit more complex. Here's the next question if you don't mind Smiler

There are numerous Auto Effects installled on Mega Panel. There is a one which has single background color with small square moving around the panel, this effects, besides it's off coloration, actually looks like a flaming fire, (which i was trying to achieve on this project.)

the big question is, can you EDIT the pre-installed auto effect via dmx? I figured how to trigger each and single effects via DMX, (I can do 6 channels now).

thanks,

Toshi
Hi James, jthtiger,

Ok, I am up for creating my own, though, in which channel and dmx value where i get to play around with single back ground x moving box pattern?

let's say, channel 4 at 125 dmx value, i get the lighting pattern that i want, then how do i change just the color, maintaining the pattern?

Can you have RGB (channel 1,2,3) respond to this pattern?

thanks,
