I just received my new Comscan LED scanners. I am attempting to set them to move in opposite directions. I attempted to do this based on the manual instructions & the mirrors still moved in unison. Help? ...below is what the manual indicates to do.

here is what the manual says ...

SLMD - This will let you set unit as a master or slave in a master/slave configuration.

1. Tap the MENU button until "SLMD" is displayed, press ENTER. Either "SL 1" or "SL 2" will be displayed.

2. Tap the UP or DOWN buttons until your desired setting is displayed, press ENTER to confim.

[B]Note: In a Master/Slave configuration you can set one fixture to Master and then set the next fixture to "SL 2", the fixtures will now have contrast movement to each other.

I know this sound stupid, but are you in master/slave mode or are you using a DMX controller? If you're using DMX mode, then you need to use different addresses on each fixture and program them independently.

AlSO, another random thought:
IN SLND menu(slave/master):
Did you set fixture 1 to NAST(master)??
(it appears you did)
Using the DMX OUT on the master, to the DMX IN on the slave, and is the slave set to "SL 2"?(seems it is)
Are you using DMX cabling and a DMX terminator?
You'll notice we like it when you use proper cabling. I tend to be a little more aggressive and always recommend using a DMX Terminator even on short runs.
(you're unclear on these items)

Is a DMX controller NOT involved in this system or at least for the ComScans?

ALSO, check your software versions. You want them to match. You may NEED them to match. Chances are this isn't the issue.

I know I more or less repeated some of what Jingles said, but I read the manual and reading this thread, it appears a few things are left out of the conversation that needed to be addressed. I try not to assume much so if you don't lay it out, I'll ask about it.
