Hi All,

I was hoping to get some pointers in downloading and installing the latest software update.

First, I have not been able to sucessfully download it off of the ADJ website. I keep getting an error message that says files are corrupted.

Second, if I update my current version will I lose all the saved programs that I have spent countless hours on? Is there a way to avoid losing any of my programs.

Last, What is the easy way to download then update MyDMX? Maybe this questions answers my first two?

Yes, as you might have guessed I am quite computer illiterate and need bread crunbs to find my way...just ask Jingles

Thanks,
Ric

Ric, it's not that hard. And you should have more confidence in yourself by now.

Download the latest my dmx here: http://db.tt/VDFGXT
This link gives you two files. the ADJ.exe install file and updated drivers.
Here is the best way to do this update.
download the exe file and then save your show file (.dlm) and then save your profiles that i sent you. You can save all of these files to your desktop. Once you have everything you want saved to your desktop uninstall my dmx from your PC and then delete the my dmx folder on your hard drive.
Now install my dmx from the exe file you downloaded from my dropbox.com. Let the drivers install and once it is done do not launch the software yet. You need to put back the files you saved back into their place. So put your show file back in the my dmx folder nad put the profile in the scan library company folder such as your ADJ fixtures profiles. Put those in the ADJ folder. Make sure you do this cause most likely they will not be there. (I make profiles too often for them to be included in the install file from our developers.)
Now launch my dmx and go to open a show, point it to your show file and then your show should be up and running.
Lastly, If your interface is not being detected by the software download the other file from my link the "siudi_driver.zip" and open the zip file and if your on a 32 bit PC copy all the files inside the "siudu_32_bit" folder and paste them into your my dmx folder on your hard drive. If your on a 64 bit Pc use the "siudi_stick_32_64_bit" files and paste those to the my dmx folder. now go into device manager find the "intelligent low cost usb DMX.... etc i forget exactly what it says. and hit update driver and then select pick from a destination and then point it to the my dmx folder. After you do this you should be good to go. ok? now im letting go of your hand cause it's starting to get sweaty :P haha.
Sincerely,
Well there is about a years worth of bug fixes and stability updates. The new version is better comapitibility with 64 bit windows OS's and I think it is a overall better stability. But if your fine with what you have running and how you use it then it's completely up to you if you want to upgrade or not. Balls in your court. Smiler
Sincerely,
Jingles,

I just successfully followed your instructions and was able to get the newer version on my desktop. This was my trial run, I will now attempt it on the "Golden" laptop! You were correct, it was pretty easy and thank you. I have no computer training at all, so alot of this stuff is like a foreign language to me and I easily get confused. Thanks for your patience!

Ric
