I know that you experienced guys get tired of reading newbie questions, but I just joined the forum today and must ask. I am trying to join the 21st century with LED lighting for my wedding dj business and have just purchased two Revo Scan LED's and two Spectrum LED's. I have been using simple Par 36's and Par 46's with the old CC-2016 chase controllers (don't laugh). I've been looking at what DMX controllers I should buy and I'm sort of overwhelmed by the choices. I see that you keep recommending the DMX Operator 192 to control large Par Cans, etc. Would I need something like that for my simple setup? I want to add a couple more lights such as the Revo II's LED's, but I don't think that I'm going to need to control more than 8 fixtures. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

What's nice about the DMX Operator 192 is that is is not only cost-effective, but crammed with a lot of features and functionality. Considering what you get for the price, it's a good deal no matter how you look at it.

I've been doing sound for most of my life. I added lights in 2002 and started with the DMX Operator, an older and now discontinued item, which the 192-version improved upon in multiple ways. In the last 6 months, I have bothered to take the time to start programming scenes. The DMX Operator 192 can easily grow with you, handling nearly anything that uses DMX.

So, you get some LED cans and can do some color changing, and some other DMX fixtures, and you're still covered. Add some simple movers? What if you need dimmer packs to handle fixtures? The DMX Operator handles those too and so will the 192.

Worse case scenario is that you buy the DMX Operator 192, and as you grow and learn, you may outgrow it and have to replace it. In the meantime, it's not just a great learning controller, but a good work-horse controller especially for those just starting out.
If you decide to go with that great controller, drop me an e-mail and I'll get you started. I know this controller front and back as well as jingles. We both own one. It is a great controller for your rig and will handle this kind of rig with ease. Any questions about it, leave em here and we will answer them or drop me an e-mail at:
