It's a good moving head for the price. Most moving heads CANNOT move 360 degrees, that's why the MAX was unique. If you absolutely need the coverage of a moving head, but don't have $1,000, the XP3 is a good choice. If you can get along with a moving mirror light, get a Concept 1 for the same price.
the XP3 is a great light, i would not recomend it for mobile use though, it is heavy and expensive, 2 things mobiles don't like, for a club i'd but it in a second, as i said thouhg if your a mobile jock and you want an intel light show go with the pocket scan or mighty scans, i personally stick purely to effect lights, vertigos and mini gressors for me
Xp3's are very loud, look bulky though. Would have been nice if they had put a Smother cass on it like the ******s. Umm single arm is nice. Strobing is fine too. But... They are practially the same light as the Utopia, DMX controls are the exact same for both light. Since they have the exact same program, same color/gobo wheel. Look into scan trons. But moving heads are damn cool!

I've seen the XP-3's being used at a gig. I was really impressed with them. You don't hear any noise while the music is playing and I'm sure you wouldn't be running them while there is no music anyway. All moving lights make some kind of noise. I'd have 2 of these myself, however they aren't in my budget right now. You could probably do a whole show with just 2 of these lights alone.
