I just got a wireless Logitech mouse over the weekend. It's gone one of those really tiny USB dongles that are "set and forget". It doesn't stick out THAT much.
Anyhow, I was using it at my show over the weekend. My lighting rig consisted of MyDMX, 3 25-foot DMX cables, 2 LTS-2 stands(no T-bars) and 2 Mega Panels with ADJ O-Clamps and a DMX Terminator.
I went through some color washes, and then was playing with macros and sound active modes. I'm very pleased with these fixtures in 7 channel mode. I have yet to test the strobing function, but I might soon.
Anyow, my biggest problems was with the mouse, I think. It seemed the mouse wasn't really giving up the channel. I would let go and it would still move the channel sometimes(often). I was trying to match macro and sped settings and I just couldn't get things to stay. Very annoying.
Is anyone else using a wireless mouse with MyDMX? Are you having problems as well? What brand and model? I wonder how much of this might be tied to all the 802.11x traffic. I'm going to try this at home too and see if there are any issues. I don't use any 2.4Ghz cordless phones(only cell phone these days) but 3 wifi access points: 1 802.11a, 1 802.11b/g, and one that is 802.11 A/B/G/N, so I know I'm tossing about more than my fair share of 2.4Ghz signalling in the region. That and at least 3-6 laptops on the wifi all the time AND my ISP is 802.11b, so I got a radio on the roof.
