look the operater is a nice controller but for a few bucks more you can get one of the best controllers out, which is the show designer

the light station is more for live or theater events.

either way their is awesome suport to the show designer, go to elatinlighting.com and they have a messege board devoted just to that controller!

and what the show designer has can not even be started here, lets just say dont waste your time on other controllers.

thats my view
Elation Compuware... Just look at it this way: the computer has no limits, so compuware is SOOO FLEXIBLE... and it has built-in programs, so if you ever have no time to setup a party it can do some programs automatically for you! (allowing you to edit programs for size, color, gobo, etc)... I'd say that with that ease, it is impossible on any other controller!

Roy, I totally agree. The software is great! Smiler Smiler
Don't get the light station it is intended for parcans and switching on and off special effects using DMX power packs.
Between the Operator 1 and 2 it would depend on how much more you want to spend for pan and tilt wheels, reverse of pan and tilt. + the ability to download and upload to and from other Operator 2's.
My favorite is the ShowDesigner but that may be out of your budget.
