I have a bunch of 9' American DJ lite stands. I think they are called LS50 or LT50 or something.

At any rate, The hand wheels that lock each height extension, screw into a nut which is set into a recess in the plastic. We occasionally (ok...often) lose these.

I have not been able to find the exact nut, so I end up buying a nut that fits the handwheel, then manually grinding it down to fit into the recess. This is not a happy thing.

Does anyone know what size nuts these are and where they can be had? A friend in a maintenance department sent me this after looking at the nut:

"I found some, but I think they still may be slightly big. They're an M8/1.25 (metric 8mm with a 1.25 metric thread pitch) in stainless steel, which is slightly smaller. What size were you grinding down?"

Again, finding the thread match doesn't seem difficult, its finding an outside dimension that fits the recess.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I have been able to find chromed versions at Home Depot, no problem.

Alternately, you can order them from ADJ by the handfull, which is what I am planning to do since the chrome/stainless finish is ugly on a black truss. My problem is my crew just keeps loosening everything until things start to fall apart. I am going to start glueing the nuts into the T's to prevent this from happening. Never lost the hand screws yet, but nuts I go through like mad. I get tired of going to do a show only to discover what new disasters my crew created for me and never bothered to tell me about.
