@ Cheers...

I'm in Australia as well and before I bought the unit I contacted AD support regarding the microphone issues. Here's a quote of their email:
"For the microphone Inputs you can get Impend. Matcher Adapter which will solve Problems with the microphones.
Headphones Problems are mostly stuff that comes by the headphones you are using. A lot of headphones are to high
in its impend. !

I hope this will be a little help for you !"

It seems you can buy this Impedance Matcher Adapter at any Music Equipment Store although I haven't bothered looking for one yet as I don't have a mic.

Hope this helps.

Not a problem at all Freshfluke.
Anyway I don't get it how ppl have problem with their mic..as for today I just bought a simple dynamic mic just to check whether it will work or cause any problems as mentioned in this forum..guess what? Everything works alright...I have not encountered the issues whatsoever regarding mics or headphones...
The mic I got wasn't even expensive (Samson Q7)...it only cost me 38 Aussie $. It has an impedance of 200 ohm and I hooked it up with a balanced XLR cable. No need for any gadgets at all!
So maybe when you want to look for a mic get one that has a high impedance and for headphones get one with max. 60 ohm...my AudioTechnica ATH-M50 (38 ohm Imp.)works fine and it can go really hard. My AKG 181 DJ has 58 Ohm Imp. and sounds just as loud. I know some Sens has >100 Ohm Imp, these will need some headphone amping really.

Just my 2 cts.
