unfortunately, my glass ball doesnt tell me neither your setup (computer? OS? what dj software?) nor does it tell me whether you followed the instructions closely and installed the right drivers first before connecting the device. oh and while we're at it, what about the firmware update?
Just purchased new vms4. I have the same problem as nelmzy. Device shows connected in Windows7, and ASIO sound driver recognizes it when plugged into USB as well.
I'm running Win7 SP1, 4GB RAM. All WinUpdates applied, no viruses, etc..

Have tried re-installing without A-V program running, also.

Device Mgr, does see the vms4 and even calls it a vms4; says its working properly.

I have Virtual DJ Pro Full, and I've tried using that program and the Virtual DJ LE that comes with the vms4. When I open those programs, the "controller is not connected"

ASIO driver is sucessfully installed over and over again.

All other usb hardware is running fine. VDJ is running fine when sound config is more simple.

Was on the phone with Dell for 3 hrs to try to fix it. They ended up with no answer, and said it must not be compatible with Win7.

I know the unit works, b/c I have it working on and winXP machine.

I have had the same problem with a numark controller, so I believe there is some setting or something related to usb that is not letting the VDJ software connect to the unit.

Before I return the unit, does anyone have ideas?
