Hi there,
just to share my result with you.

After a week of forums, guides, sound tests and midi out troubles, i can say that VMS4 is almost perfect.

In attachment you can find all resources i have used.

1. the manual

http://db.tt/5xS1oHP

2. the midi table:

http://db.tt/9tZ6bkY

3. the led note list:

http://db.tt/rn79BQA

4. the new 3.12 rev firmware:

http://db.tt/CHAXriS

it solves distorted sound recording problem in 8out/2in mode with traktor. (MAC USER)

5. MY MAP

http://db.tt/ov9HR9t

I's a 3 deck map using traktor in external mode and analog VMS4 eq/gain.

MIDILOG: 1 - deck C

MIDILOG 2 - deck A

MIDILOG 3 - deck B

MIDILOG 4 - preview output

I hope you will discover all the setup trying it...
I have no time to work on a complete guide to explain all the map.
Don't esitate to ask me.

BTW NEDO you can use the 3.12 firmware on PC but out driver only runs @ 44.1 so you'll need a generic driver like ASIO4ALL.

Hello Aziz,

I have tested the VMS4 on the MAC and duplicated this issue

In previous testing we found an issue with newer MAC OSs 10.5.8 and higher where the audio gets out of sync at 44.1kHz. For the output audio, we resolved this by setting the audio for adaptive mode instead of synchronous.

Now the problem is for some strange reason the MAC won't work with this change on the input audio.

All of the distortion issues go away when I set the output audio for 48kHz. Please try updating your unit with the attached firmware.

I'll talk with the guys at ADJ see if we want to make this a permanent change to the VMS4 firmware. The problem is the Windows driver we did is for 44.1kHz so for now only do the update if you have this issue with a MAC computer.

i have updated to3.12 version but the Traktor's audio settingsIt didn't switch as you suggested. I try to be clearer. I got that the parameter should be 44100 Hz but after updating, it still 48000 Hz but the sound distorsion that I had been listening, now disappear. That thing came while i was mixing and after i turned to max the master volume, i needed to switch the Device off to' fix it. I wanna know if at this time, with this setting (that apparently doesn't matches yours), i should avoid this fastidious distortin
But nobody succeed to do the same thing with a 4 deck map using TRAKTOR in external mode and analog VMS4 eq/gain.

like that ?

MIDILOG: 1 - deck C

MIDILOG 2 - deck A

MIDILOG 3 - deck B

MIDILOG 4 - deck D

i got a problem with the 4 deck mode ,

I explain : if I'm doing in EXTERNAL mode

VMS4 8 out

output deck A = L : 3 back Left + R : 4 back Right
output deck B = L : 5 front Left of center + R: front Right of center
output deck C = L : 1 front Left + R: 2 front Right
output deck D = L : side Left + R : side Right
output preview : not connected
output fx return : not connected

DECK A = Midilog 2
DECK B = Midilog 1
DECK C = Midilog 3
DECK D = Midilog 4

WHEN EVERY DECK IS PLAYING IN TRAKTOR, THE MIDILOG 3 is PLAYING ALL THE TIME IN EVERY POSITION OF THE CROSSFADER !

I WANT TO SEPARATE MIDILOG 1 & 2 OF MIDILOG 3 & 4 ===> but the Midilog is playing even the crossfader is on the left.

you can only assign 2 channels to the crossfader, the other 2 have to be controlled by the line fader. this is normal external mixer behavior that you find on any standard club mixer...
How do I install this update?

Thanks

Can you send me the vms4 firmware update utility for Mac?

this is sth the support does, not me.
(besides that i dont have it anyways)

I'm using traktor no VDJ, I'm very disapointed with your support because I send a lot of mails and you don't solve my problem.

you can send me your email correspondance with the ADJ support to freshfluke AT freshfluke DOT de and i can have a further look, but as said before: if you need an FW update, i'm not the right person!
