vms4 / traktor 1.2.4 problems

Same here. This is an excerpt from my post in "Kali dejay new Traktor pro mapping" thread.

It is my second day with the VMS4 (first post on the forum) and your mapping was the first of the three I tried that I could get to work. I like it so much I may not try the other two again! My issues getting the map up in running seemed to be 2 things:
1)Traktor seems to need to be rebooted occasonally to learn new stuff
2) I had to choose my In-port and Out-port in the control manager panel if I didn't it would show something like "vmsmidi...)and the mappings would only partly work. I had to choose "USB device" (in the in-port) to make it work.

Also when I reopen preferences the selected map is "generic..." not the Kali one I loaded however the mapping works and is in fact the Kali mapping, for some reason it just says generic. Hope this helps.

1. what TSI file are y'all using?
2. is the audio configured correctly if its "red" it is not. Please set your audio correctly.

I am using Kali's mapping. I found it here;

It is working fine but the heading in controller manager says "generic keyboard" and the in-port says "keyboard" even though when I first got it working I had to choose "VMS4 4 full decks..." and "USB audio device" in the in-port box then when I close and reopen preferences it reverts to "generic..." but it works like it should.
I have Traktor pro and have the latest versions and updates for bothe the VMS4 and Traktor.

Thx for the help. I have to wait til after work to re try. I downloaded the map from vms4dj.com, but I couldn't tell you off the top of my head which file it was... I am running pc if that makes any difference.

Good looks, it was an audio out issue. All fixed, much appreciated.

The problem is not in the mapping file, is in the version of traktor. For some reason the version of traktor 1.2.4, even erasing the other mappings, when you close and reopen the settings are still there. What I did was delete the file manually from the folder where you save files traktor.

you should always update to the latest traktor version, which is currently 1.2.6

the mappings provided by ADJ are all done with 1.2.6 - using these mappings with older traktor versions can lead to problems!
