VMS4 Timecode in Traktor

in order to use the VMS4 with TC in Traktor you need to have an Audio 4 or 8 from NI. The built in soundcard in the VMS4 is not certified for TC with Traktor.

What meens NOT CERTIFIED? What happens if you just set the input channels the right way and put some timecoded vinyls on it.

To add to What Hartmut Stated the VMS4 is not Traktor Certified. Native Instruments Traktor Skratch DVS only work on Certified Audio Interfaces you might be getting Audio on the input but the software wont active the time code engine.

I do NOT want to use illegal software, just want to know if it would be worth buying the vms4 and traktor scratch pro or looking after the XONE 4D or the Rane Mixer. I like the VMS4 as it can be used for analog mixing only. Thats some feature u won't find in other "cheap" controllers. XONE 4D and RANE ar more then 1300€ at the moment...

Where can you buy a legal copy of Scratch Pro WITHOUT an Audio8 ?

I think you might find them a little more hostile about it.

The only known workaround for the absence of the Audio 8 in Traktor Scratch Pro is a fully certified mixer.

V1.2.7 is coming out very soon, which fixes playback on a number of files, and waveform resolution.

By the time you have added $599 onto the VMS's price you are in a similar position ..you may be better waiting for the S4 to be released at the end of November, and then waiting a few months tot he DVS to be added to it.

If you wnat a cheap solution, Pro DJ'ing isn't it .. it all costs money.

Why not look at VDJ and some "miss pinky", thats dead cheap and it doesn't have to be a cracked copy. Plenty of people here are using VDJ and they like it ..

If you want Traktor Scratch Pro, it's expensive no matter how you look at it.

If you thought you could use one of the cheap upgrades, they don't upgrade unless you already have the serial for the qualifying product. If you don't have that, it runs in demo mode for 30mins and crashes.

I use the VMS4 as a controller and the Audio 4 as a soundcard. My other rig is a full DVS system that uses my Audio 8 ...

I had a look on VDJ, it seems to be okay. Even the Videofeature looks nice. So, I may order a VMS4 and have a look on it. Costs about 399€ here in Germany.

if you buy the vms4 AND traktor scratch pro (the package includes the software, audio 8 hardware and the tc vinyls), you're absolutely fine using it.

this is my preferred way of using the vms, btw.

i was not offended personally, no harm...

but you were hinting to illegal workarounds, using cracked software/warez. i can not keep such stuff up here on a manufacturors website, i hope you understand.

So rather than becoming heavy handed pointless waste of time moderator that you have first shown us, you have been introduced to the forum as the Traktor "expert".

So, create a working .tsi that uses the touchstrips for something useful like a combination filter sweep and modulator, or give us a tutorial on mapping multi effects such as Ean Goldens VCI mappings.

And stop giving people a hard time, you are supposed to be here to help not pi$$ people off. After all you are sponsored by both NI and ADJ, do them a favour, help keep their customers and not send them off to the waiting arms of the competition.

Fer fecks sake, i've done more to help users than most of the moderators on here (Leo is excluded from that, he seems to be a nice guy thats willing to help!)

a new tsi is already in the making.

However your heavy handedness will allow the question to be raised once again, and again for time and memorium.

1.2.4 has issues with crashing when deleting certain items, it screws up playing certain file types, waveforms don't updtate all the time, but i don't need to go on, after all you are the "expert".

1.25 & 1.26 fixed these problems ...

So it makes sense to buy the proper software, ...

I suppose you are going to delete this too ...


perhaps I'll invite the users over to another forum where we can actually get on with the job of given accurate and important information to assist and develop users of this creative tool.
