I'm getting huge distortion when playing from a laptop with VDJLE

Made a vid below to show exactly whats going on. Ch2&3 are usb/pc, ch1 is line-in.
Using an HP tablet tx2604 (4gigs, dual core amd) More than enough juice.

I followed the instructions online and in the manual. Tech support was even baffled. Any help appreciated, I have a performance on Friday :S

I upgraded firmware to 3.11 and it works on my tower pc, just the laptop is the issue.I'm starting to think its the ASIO drivers that are culprit.

It is your AMD processor. Even Serato Itch will not work with those, but the VMS4 will.

Here is the info

Attention all AMD PC owners if you are having issues with your VMS4. IE: the sound sound distorted and it does not improve when you adjust the latency in the ASIO driver or software settings, or you hear a high pitched signal thru your outputs when you use a USB mouse.

Please visit the support page for your PC's manufacturer website enter the support page for you PC's model. download the "AMD USB filter Driver" install it, reboot your computer.

AMD USB filter Driver

I have an Acer aspire 5536.
The vms4 worked when i ran vista, but now i have upgraded to windows 7 it has the symtoms that are explained on this thread.

i cannot locate the AMD USB filter Driver for windows 7 and only seems to be applicable to window vista and below.

any thoughts?
Hi Freshfluke,

I emailed tech support the other day but am still waiting to hear back, although I did buy the mixer 2nd hand from a friend, which I forgot to mention in earlier posts, but they never had this issue when they used the VMS4 and my other friend who has one and is running on a similar spec HP Laptop and the same version of Traktor has not had these issues either.
Ok it's definately a issue with the mixer itself as I was using it earlier and it just died whilst playing a track, and would not even restart. Think I have just got a bad mixer. Its a shame as when it works the mixer is outstanding but it doesn't work on a regular enough basis, so will be returning and getting my money back.
Right I have managed to get the mixer to work occassionally by switching off the Network cards in my laptop and by switching off any audio devices other than the VMS 4 and it is occassionally crackling and popping still. I have increased the latency as well even after running the free online latency checker and it telling me that my laptop will perform with no issues.

I am STILL waiting for tech support to get back to me.

Think I am going to swap to the Pionner DDJ instead as I can not keep messing about the mixer.
Yeah I had a play around with the drivers and settings and had no luck so tech support told me to switch to the previous drivers again.

However I was sent this link on a different forum which tells you how to tune your Windows 7 laptop to be more compatible with USB Audio devices for mixing and music production.

I have followed the steps and just completed a 2hr mix with no issues. And I will be testing it again next week as I am back to work for the next four nights so won't be able to check and see if it works ok next time.
Well it's back to the drawing board again. I booted the laptop and VMS4 up again yesterday and had the exact same issues. Even increasing the latency is not having any real effect now. I am running out of ideas on how to get this to work for more than 2hrs at a time.

I have had to get a previous episode of my radio show played this week as I can't get the VMS4 to work long enough or consitentley enough to record a new episode.
Ok, I'm new to this form but I have just fixed this issue for my laptop.

My Laptop Specs:
HP Tablet (Pavilion tx2510us)
AMD Turion X2
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 32 Bit

Running VMS4 with Firmware 3.11

I tried everything: AMD USB Filter driver, setting latency to max, optimizing my setting on my PC and tried running it on Windows 7 64 bit with a dual boot.

The latency test I run indicated that my laptop is good.

Anyways what ended up fixing it for me was this version of AMD USB filter v1.0.6.0 from this form link:

Mediafire link:

It works prefect now and I just tested it with 10ms Latency. I can even run my laptop on battery and the VMS4 on USB power only and it works with no issue. Wireless card on etc....

Ok as a last ditch attempt with my mixer I have run it with the same version of Traktor Pro 2 on my old laptop.

Acer Aspire 5630
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
2GB RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium

With absolutely no issues at all. Does anyone know why the VMS4 works fine with this laptop and not my Windows 7 laptop?

I have updated firmware, drivers and tuned the laptop as per the dubspot blog I found online, I am fast running out of ideas on how to get the mixer to work with my new laptop as the Acer is on its last legs.
