vms4 + macbookpro+ traktor

Sometimes it is a good idea to install Virtual DJ LE and test everything, then go to Traktor and go from there. That way you know the controller and computor are fine and any issues are related to Mapping and routing (soundcard)

yes i did contacted the service department, but the guy wants me to call him and i live in montreal, he's in L.A., and yes i have choose the vms4 as soundcard, and yes it works well with virtual dj, now i got the audio (thanx)...but still can use fully use it, as i said, i cannot use the play button or the pause, i can only use the cue as play and pause, also i cannot use the search buttons, off course, i cannot use the effects, volumes (bass, treble, gain, and master) works well, i don't know if it has something to do with the mapping but i already installed 2 different mapping, so i don't know what could it be, thnx for your help and comprhension...

use MIDI monitor to test the buttons you are having trouble with. If they work on MIDI monitor than you It is more than likely the mapper.

and how do i get to test with midi monitor?....sorry about my ignorance, and if it is the mapping, how can i fix it?...

So I finally figuere out it is the mapping, but i have tryed many that are on the net and the only one that i can get response it only gives me a few buttons to work with, i cannot use the effects, so does any one have some more options for mapping, i have a mac, I don't know if that is an issue...thnx

traktor mappings work across all platforms, but the interesting point is with what version a mapping was created and what version you're using!

my mapping was done with 1.2.6, so you should here e.g. not use a traktor version prior to that, because sometimes things in the mapping architecture change in traktor.

Well i have the version 1.2.7 of traktor...what do i have to do then?

Actually your mapping is the one I'm using because is the only one that works the best, but doesn't works completely, what works is the play cue and pause but the buttons do not correspond to their function, the play button is the cue button, the cue is the play, and so on....also the vinyl button works well, the loop buttons, volumes, sync, the search buttons I started to understand a little bit how they work with your mapping, all of it works...
what doesn't works is the effects knobs nor buttons (on/off-parameter), and the sample knobs it only works as effects the volume knob and the rec button turns it on as effect but I can only use one effect which i don't know what type it is but i cannot change it nor even from traktor, and the sample select knob and its play button do not do anything....that's pretty much it....thanx for your concern on my problem

i did that intentionally!
i thought it was confusing that in traktor the play and cue buttons are different to what is printed on the vms, so i switched it. you can change that back easily!

i recommend you to open the PDF file i zipped with the mapping. there i explain every knob. what's printed on the vms does not always correspond to what is mapped! i'm sure this explains the rest of your issues as well...

the good thing is that you can map the vms in traktor super-free and absolutely to your likings! the bad thing is that it's somewhat time-consuming to do so.

i recommend the manual and the traktor bible or a read in the traktor forums (or NIs knowledge base) for a first start.
