VMS4 @ a 1st gig, issue? Tips?

these are all questions no one can give you a definite answer

did you test everything at home? have you been comfortable with everything? then, chances are good that it's exactly as pie in the venue

I did some testing at home. Havent seen any issues. I havent plugged it to any PA system or powered amp speakers. Ill have to see this Saturday and give it a test. Thanks Freshfluke

First of all, good luck! Here are some quick thoughts as I performed a gig with my VMS4, then upgraded to VMS4.1:
1.) Be aware of where you plug in your power to....I had mines going to an outlet that also had some lights and smoke machine....smoke machine went pooff...so did my VMS4! I had to reboot the VMS4 (luckily this happened before the crowd began coming in).
2.) Be aware of static electricity...I had some static and when I touched the controller it shut off....this happened with my VMS4.1! I know this is uncommon in venues where there are not carpets, etc....but it did happen to me.
3.) Ensure to have a backup music capability....I have my American Audio DCD Pro 1000's...and an IPOD as last resort
4.) Disable wireless on your laptop to lessen resources during the gig
5.) In terms of Mic problems, you would've noticed them immediately already....I did not have this issue with my VMS4
6.) Before the gig starts, test your setup with all the lights/smoke machines (if applicable) on to see if there are any power issues

If you could upgrade, do it. I was able to exchange mine and pay the difference because I had it less than a month....the difference in sound quality is VERY noticeable. Plus, the paint on the VMS4 rubbed off so
fast it wasn't funny! Again...if you can - go for the VMS4.1!

Hey everyone!
The sound went pretty well. I was pretty impressed!! I did not have a monitor so I have to keep checking once awhile in front of the Sound System. Sound was great!

I've tried the Mic once to tell everyone 'Last call for Alcohol'. No problem with that.

I've asked my friends on how the sound. They said its awsome!

I'll have to unlock VDJ to get the pro edition. How much is it if you already have LE version? (in US)

R2real - it is good to hear that all went well!!In terms of the upgrade price, it was $149 for me (live in Atlanta). Are you still contemplationg upgrading to the VMS4.1, if you can....do it!

I'm thinking about the VMS4.1 . I might as well give my VMS4 to my dad since he wants to start to use it for Karaoke DJ.

Does anyone know if there will be an upgrade for the controller after the VMS4.1? Maybe a VMS4.2 ?

Not sure if I should wait for the next upgrade. hhmmm

So far I've did my 2nd gig at a club/bar at the same area with my VMS4. They must of like the sound. I've not reached any problem during a 5 hours straight set. Which is good.

I'm waiting for another call if I'll be spinning this Saturday.
