VMS4 2nd Volume Slider fault..

Hi!!

Just had a problem start with the 2nd volume slider. When you put it all the way up, it then slowly starts dropping the volume until it reaches zero automatically!!

I have run "MIDI-OX" software and can see the slider showing "7F" on full volume, then it drops on its own. If you push on the slider (into the case slightly), then it stops at "7F", but once released it slowly drops again.

I also notice that the 1st slider is not smooth all the time either (and I rarely use that one!!). Channels 3 & 4 work fine.

This is now the 5th VMS4 I have had and to be honest, am losing faith in this product.

1. I have had problems with the rotary jog wheels scraping
2. The marking coming off all the VMS4's I have had within a month (I use this at home and play for VirtualDJ radio with it as I'm part of the support team for the UK there).
3. Distorted mic problem (sorted with the free adaptor)
4. Volume distortion (all of them including this one) when you mix a song and leave both of the bass dials on "middle" setting, so I have to drop the bass on one of the tracks when mixing then modify as the mix comes in.

Please can one of the ADJ management or team members contact me to give me help please?

Don't get me wrong I love this controller and its layout, but am getting tired of all the problems!

I spent a year after buying this getting replacements until this one I have now appeared to be working fine at last... but alas this has failed less than one year of use on!!

doesnt sound good. that would be a support case. please get in contact with ADJ support!

i can imagine... but ADJ will deffo help you out with the fader issue you describe.

The slider issue is a hardware fault, and will need a new slider to fix (either that or to strip it and clean with isopropyl alcohol)

Like I say, I love the controller and how it works, just wish it was a bit more resilient... I've not heard of such issues with ******* or Numark equipment, although I know it's still possible. They seem to be of a better build quality, although their price tag reflects this.

I have some ADJ lighting too, and that's just amazing!

Not trying to put anyone off the VMS controllers at all, they are amazing to use, and VERY user friendly. Just be careful who uses them, and how heavy handed they are as I've only used mine myself and at home, so not what you would call heavy use at all! Smiler

it's interesting, because i had mine with me quite often on workshops, where noobs were using it, so i cant say that i was very sensitive to my vms and did not have such problems...

i have been in contact with support about your case and they will take care of you soon.

btw, unfortunately, i wont be at BPM this year - i wish!!! and so did ADJ, but i'm too pregnant for flying... and actually i dont feel as fit as i did in my first pregnancy, so i will sit at home and watch the pics and videos with hungry eyes then... :-S
