vms4.1 and Windows 8

It works as good as with Win7. I got no problems with that, but turned back to Win7 ´cause i don´t like Win8 :-)

hey.. hum, I had windows 7 and my vms 4 ran perfectly fine.. Then, I sent it to repair, AA sent me a VMS 4.1 traktor ediditon.. But, by that time I had installed windows 8 on my pc.. I installed all vms drivers, asio driver blah blah blah.. It worked fine, but after a minute the sound got weird.. like, everything was fine, traktor wise and pc wise, but tyhe sound was like scratching!! like, distorted and I dont know why! You could still understand the music but it was all distorted basicilly just a rrrrrr rrr r.. I have a Asus n53 SV - i7 2630 qm processor, 8gigs RAM, 1 Gb geforce gt540m cuda.. 2 days ago, I formated my pc, because I thought there could be something wrong with it.. But the same thing happens (the only thing I have in it are firefox and traktor pro 2)..I use the vms on a usb 2.0 port (already tried on 3.0, the same happens), tried it plugged in to electricity and without, with/out my external HD.. The same always happens..

This just happens for a few seconds, then it stops, then it comes back again.. And does this for quite a while.. But after like 30minute/1hour it stops completely and runs fine.. Seems like it takes time to "heat up" LOOL

Anyone knows what this is?

why did you send it to repair when it was running fine? *confused*

When I said running fine I meant software wise.. I sent it to repair because my channel, 1, 2 and 3 faders were broken for the 3rd time, a pfl button broke, etc.. I've tried stuff like that freshfluke, but the same distortion remains.. :S I even have a program that tells me if my pc is good to run audio programs or not.. it analisis the cpu and ram, and stabelizis the system.. But, yeah, it keep doing that horrible sound.. I'll try and record a bit of it and post it later tomorrow, so you can hear exactly and undertand what noise Im talking about

just try it out and report. did you try also latency mon as suggested in the tuning tips?
also exchange your usb cable.
also check your hdd - is it running out of space?

I don't know fresh.. they just started to break one after the other!! And I wasnt even that hard with them!! mainly home use!! I used to use my vms 4 like once or twice a month..I think it's because everytime they sent my controller back it always was a broken controller that had been fixed so you know, things problably werent good when they got to my hands..

About windows 8, I tried other usb cables, including my traktor x1 and nothing, my computer is clean :P have 500 something free gigs of space.. The only thing I tried but I know I didnt went really deep with, was the latency issue

well, latency and all the issues around it (tuning the computer) would be the very first step...
