VMS2 Pre-listen

I recently just bought the VMS2 but only problem I have is pre-listening. I turned down the volume on the cued song while its playing and also pressed the cue button above the fader but the cued song is playing through my speakers still...?
I just want to pre-listen and cue up a song while my deck 1 is playing so I can fade to a new song.
HELP

what dj software?

there's probably sth wrong with your routing or you're in internal mixing mode instead of external mixing mode or sth like this.
