I know I am probably opening myself up here and will show my computer illiteracy, but I have learned alot so far on this forum and just am asking for some grace and assistance. I wish I was as knowledgeable as most of you are. Now...

I know you can right click on the mydmx file and go to properties. There is a "compatibility" tab. It's purpose appears to be to emulate previous version of windows on applications that have issues. One of the choices is XP service packs 2. Has anyone tried this to get around Vista 64 bit until the driver problems get fixed. My laptop is of course 64 bit (I found out too late)and i cannot afford to get an xp version or even a 32 bit version now. I am not a computer person and don't have tons of options here. I don't live in the city and don't have a lot of resources. I need to be programming right now for upcoming shows and don't have time for the 64 bit driver issues to be resolved. I have also read about setting up a "dual operating partition" for xp and vista. There are instructions on-line. However, I don't have xp or have time to try and find software and /or xp drivers which I guess are hard to find and am not sure if this really works either.

Does anyone know if the compatibility mode works?
