these new Vio series lights..
are they better than old RevoRoll RevoScan?

i know the new Vio's have 1 quad led,
where the old had tons more LED's...

is this new Vio series supposed to be better?

from the videos, it seems the older Revo series has a better effect and are cheaper..

why now a new, but so similar light?

anyone?

The Vio series does not offer much as far as patterns go. The Revo has a ton of patterns. The vio series is REALLY bright. The Revo's are not as bright. It's not really a matter of "which one is better" is a matter of "here are your choices, purchase the one that suits you the best" Make sense?
Welcome to the forums.
Sincerely,
The revo roll is a very good fixture, I have a couple of them since 2008 and they never gave me a problem BUT they are not bright at all (you can see the rays only in a dark room and only with some smoke) and the led dots matrix is an old concept of lighting...the new vio series has sharper beams and even if it doesn't have patterns I think that it's brightness will be more than enough Wink By the other side for these type of scanner I always suggest barrel instead of flat because with barrels you can get your room full of color AND if you like the flat mirror effect you should take a look at comscans, x-scans and the new vizi scan pro Big Grin

Yes I've seen it in the ldi 2010 pdf preview Big Grin 60 watts of leds are really cool and I'm sure that thing is damn bright but I won't buy it AS a mobile dj, for sure as centerpiece in a club or a disco. I've recently buyed a quad phase, as a successor of my revo III, and for 1200$ (the price of nucleus pro) I would prefer to have a bigger coverage with 2 quad phase and 2 vio roll, for the same reason that I prefer 2 mega bar 50 instead of a single mega bar...multiple items are more reliable and give you the freedom of a more flexible set up.
By the other side the nucleus has build in shows that combine all the 6 scanners without the need of dmx, it's a hard choice Big Grin
