Vertigo DJ light

I bought one of the halogen bulb Vertigo lights. I know the LED Tri Vertigo is out, but this halogen version I got very cheap in my opinion...I recently looked at a couple reviews on the light. My question is about the 10 min duty cycle that some say is required. Other reviews say they used it 3 to 5 hours without a problem...Can anyone give me more info about the required duty cycle..

The Vertigo is not supposed to be on for more than ten minutes straight. It then needs a 10 minute cool down time. The lamps it uses are 300 watts each and they create allot of heat. Leaving them on for a longer period of time may damage the units guts and possibly melt the colored lenses.

Hi,

As an owner of a Vertigo Tri-LED effect light, I'd say you should have gone with one of those.
The reason being that the lights (led's) have a 50,000 hour life expectancy (possibly longer) and there is NO duty cycle...you can run it all night and it generates NO heat.

I have had the ORIG vertigo and the VERTI-PRO .. I have used it for 4-5 hours straight without turning it off. NO ISSUES. One of the ones I have had since the 90's and still working fine..... IMO the LED version is not very bright...
