Does anyone else have a problem of the USB going dead? Sometimes during a session at the club I have to often pull out and replug in the USB cable at the box end to get things working again. AS soon as this is done it picks it up strait away. It also happens when switching from one preset to another in rapid succession.

Disable any power savings stuff in your Power options control panel. If a laptop, run off wall power.

Also, run right off a USB port on the computer, not a USB hub(powered or otherwise).

Connect your gear as follows:
Wire all lights using DMX cabling.
Plug the lead from the first light back to the MyDMX hardware.
Plug the DMX hardware into the computer's USB port(the computer is already started and was booted with the hardware NOT connected).

Ideally, use an Elation OptoBranch/4 or Branch/4 type spliter/repeater for protecting your MyDMX from your lights and vice versa as well as providing some signal strength boosting.

Lastly, power ON the computer with the hardware disconnected. After start-up, plug the hardware in. Then launch MyDMX.

I rapidly switch scenes quite frequently(like, if I choose a scene and decide YUCK!) and have no problems.
Hi are you using win7 as my usb drops out. I've created a new power setting as high pro and told the usb to not power off but it still does.
Win 7 64bit Hp Pavilion Lappy

Edit - Forgot to say that the mydmx unit still shows red and flashing greed comms link

Edit 2 - I also found when the screen blanks it stops so I now put that on a 2 hour b4 blanking
