I've only had my vms around 2 months and my 3rd fader which i have assigned to channel b using traktor has stopped functioning as it should do.

The sound is still coming out when the fader is fully down......?

I'm a fully professional DJ and this controller is essential for me to use 5 nights a week in front of thousands - there's no way i can send this thing off for repair unless i have another one to use so i'm stuck?

Any ideas?

there is only the option of a hardware defect or a software preferences change (for whatever reason).

just to make sure, can you upload pictures from traktors routing page and from the vms control panel?

if we can rule out what i stated in my posting above, you should contact ADJ support since this would point to a hardware defect.
ahah you got the same problem as me :S you broke the fader for sure..I had my VMS4 since january and in March my channel C fader broke.. And i emailed american audio and musicstore.com (wich is where I bought it), both more than one time and no one answered me.. So i opened the VMS and my fader was broken.. This happend because the American Audio faders for the VMS4 arent good at all! The crossfader is really good and I love it but the faders aren't good at all and get stuck when you use them very fast! I wanted to know if American Audio couls send me a fader and I would pay via credit card or whatever thanks
Absolutely gutted. My 2nd fader has completely stopped working now even though there was never an issue with it before. Fader 3 now seems to be working.

Thing is, i need this gear for 5nights a week and now it's unreliable and i can't afford to send it off to be repaired.

What do i do now????!
dj slim you have the reason i open the vms4 because the pitch from right side is broken with an aprox of 15 hours of use of the vms4 or less. yeah the components are really bad. open the vms and see a pair of scratches in the sliders apparently with an screw driver of something. i don´t have troubles with my another equipment(another brands 4 sure) vms4 it´s very badly. i think to trhow it to the garbage or put earth and a plant on it jajaja
please dont construct a general rule from a single incident... the vms is overall pretty sturdy, i had it without case or anything, only wrapped in a towe, in a soft bag on a flight (not in the plane).

one of the faders was a bit bent, but everything worked perfectly well.

i really understand that you are disappointed, but we should really focus on a more constructive way to help you.
Hey guys. I have the same problem, and unfortunately agree with some that the quality of the controller is good but some things really seem flimsy. The front case white lettering is fading but I use custom mappings anyway. But I switched my bad fader with a working one (channel 2 is now 4 and vice versa) and ordered a replacement, but there aren't any in stock. I am however searching for more spare parts. If the parts website (ADJ) gets more, ill let you know.

And BTW does anybody know of a site that sells cheap innofaders?

No. The paint isn't a huge deal for me. The parts site sells them, but i may get a skin for it.
I fix computers, game consoles, audio equipment, etc. I know that the warranty gets voided, but I fixed one of the touch strips, and switched the 2 faders myself. This unit was designed well, and at the same time the assembly makes it pretty easy to fix if you know your way around electronic components. I'm confident it will last me a while, and it will help me fix it in the future.

My only problem now is the parts website seems to be out of stock on some things. I'm about to email the adj parts site to inquire about availability.
I know people frown on this, and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE THIS THING APART IF YOU ARE INEXPERIENCED WITH AUDIO EQUIPMENT REPAIR!
