We have a 24w x 15h white backdrop. We are currently borrowing 4 color palettes and 5 LED par 64's. Time to get our own now....
Would you use colorstrips and use fewer or what? I can get 8 LED par 64's pretty inexpensively and maybe use a diffuser in them to widen and soften beam. Your thoughts?
Thanks

Strips would be best for lighting a backdrop fully like this:

Cans, no matter how many and how much silk and/or diffusion you put in will always have some scalloping. However, cans would be best if you just want streaks of color, like on this sign:

If you are going with cans and want a more spread out beam, look into getting some gel known as silk. It spreads the light in two directions vs all over like diffusion does.
