Shoot me an email if ADJ decides to change this position. Not providing an upgrade path punishes early adopters of your software. When ADJ is ready to acknowledge and support the customers who have supported ADJ, I'll be happy to consider purchasing ADJ products again. On the bright side, this certainly makes my pending decision a slam dunk on next four fixtures I am purchasing in December. Thanks -PC
I say v1 is better than v2 mainly due to the lack of the 3D visualizer. But also less crashes and bugs as reported on the site. The new UI being black makes the screen difficult to view at times.

The pluses are the use of the ssl2 profiles and the FX generator. And carried over from v1, the scene recording is one of the easiest on the market. And it is also a plus that it functions on Mac and windows systems, but I think that may also play a part in some of the crashes. It's a lot to cover.
True, but you also need to remember, we had the exact same issue with "crashing" when MyDmx1 first came out.... MyDmx2 is brand new program compaired to MyDmx (MDX1 first released some where around 2007/2008) We started from the ground up with MyDmx2 because of the Mac OS...so, its a fresh start, there will be bugs with it (Just like MDX1 had) but, like MDX1 which is now stable, we will get mdx2 stable...once this happens, i think you will see MDX2 is a lot better.

The 3D has to be completely started from scratch for the SAME reason, the MAC OS... Sure, we could have thrown it together in a fast get it out there way, however, we ALSO decided, we wanted the MDX2 to be very user friendly cross over from MDX1. So, we wanted a new program to act exactly the same and look very similar USING a different OS language. This all takes time, time a lot of customers dont like waiting on.

On a side note of the 3D: The 3D is actualy a second program all into itself, something we added on. The MDX2 program (MDX1 as well) work completely independent to the 3D. So, for one to be better because of it, is simply not true...the 3D has nothing to do with the program, it is simply an ADD on to the program.

A black UI is way better than white.
It is a lot more comfortable for your eyes to look at a dark UI over time, rather a white blending one.

You will also realise that you do things much faster and efficient in V2 as soon as you get used to it.
My DMX 1 has smaller buttons. Fitting more on a single page, a huge advantage over 2. The only reason for the bigger buttons is to include a status bar. Which, 75 Percent of my scenes are a single look, so I don't need this line strobing while I look at it. Put a progress bar at the top next to the timer at the top of the screen and make the buttons the same size they were in Version 1.

The scene editor where you could mix color is less efficient than one. In one I moved a single dot, and a fader. In 2 I have to choose where I want to fall in the color wheel. How saturated I want the color to be, and the brightness. It added a step without creating any better functionality. The better choice would have been to make the circle bigger, to give a finer pin point of color choice, and make the color wheel dim with the brightness fader.

I also agree that by not having given some form of bonus to people who have been on board for a while was a callous choice. Even if it was just an update of the old software that closed the gap between 1 and 2 that would encourage and ease the change between the 2. I.E. updating the UI to a darker color, and updating the Effects generator.

That is just my opinion.
