Hi !

I just bought Revo 4 for our band, since today, we have used only Martin lightning, but I was looking for reasonable priced LED, so I reached to American DJ.

First - is it possible to make my own patterns for the Revo 4 and how can i use them ?

Second - there is something in the manual I dont understand. It says Revo 4 has Audio mode and show mode. For Show mode i have to turn off the audio mode (I did this), select the show I want form the menu, press enter and then I can select the speed. NOPE ! I cant ! After pressing enter to select the show, I'm back in the main menu and nothing happens.
Also - when the the audio mode is turned ON, Revo 4 still uses one of the shows to use with audio...
From the manual I understand that Show mode is non audio mode and Audio mode is - well audio mode. But basically there is show mode with audio and show mode without audio (that is pointless, because it does not work without audio).

one more thing. On the homepage of Astrolight, where I bought the Revo 4, was this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...ure=player_embedded#

I see nearly none of these great patterns shown in the video !
Does different Revo 4 software version mean different patterns ?

The video says its Revo set on the sound active porgram "0". Nope - I dont have these patterns. Also the video says No programs were changed. If you put it on Show "O" it will go through all programs. !

My Revo has sort of "empty pattersn" - couple of "dots" chasing each otehr ect. Nothing like in this video !
Currently the only way to create your own patterns would be with pixel mapping. This is complex and requires expensive control systems to achieve. All of the patterns in the videos are in there, but there is not a easy way to select any one pattern. If you let the shows play out then the patterns change and eventually you will see all of them. It seems that the 12 built in shows consist of sub groups of the total patterns stored on board. i have been requesting the AMDJ release an updated DMX control profile that gives users access to all of the bulit in patterns via DMX. Currently you can only access 12 of them via DMX.

MyDMX only supports 1 universe for use at any given time. You can make as many universes as you want, 1 per show file(which contains your scenes as well).

Yup, 2 REVO4's in 256-channel mode and you're toast.

You havee to keep in mind MyDMX is more of an entry-level type of product. They can't cram multiple universes at such a price point.
I have to say that without using MY DMX and only looking at the manual it does look like a great bang for the buck.

Although not a perfect solution for controlling many Revo 4 in 265 ch mode due to its universe limitations.

Now if you could just access more of the existing built in programs using a few dmx channels, say one for pattern, one for color and one for speed that would be swell Smiler (no, I'm not going to stop harping on this up until a new firmware version is released)
Chris's answer is correct. Only one 512 DMX universe in my dmx. If you want two or more you need to step up to elation's Compu live software which I also support. You have to remember there are not many controllers at this price that give you a full dmx universe for channels. so say had you not bought my dmx you would not even be able to run the fixture in 256 channel mode.
Sincerely,
