Cool. I was going to ask what it was for also. I had a clue as to what effect you would get, but didn't know it would look like a laser. Have to try that one out in the basement, or as I like to call it the "Chamber of Horrors", "The Rock n' Roll Casket", "The Dungen of Despair".

You can get added effects using mirrors to bounce you lighting around with.

I got 2 of these Frankestein Heads, plastic ones that they sell at Halloween at places like Canadian Tire, and Walmart and such. They stand about 3, or so feet high, are grey in color with painted on black highlights. The mask almost looks like the one in the movie SCREAM actually. Anyways the mouth is in an open screaming pose. What I did was to cut out the mouth part, replace it with a black mesh. Then cut a hole in the back where I had a fog maker hooked up and had fog shooting out of its mouth. Kinda cheezy but it looks neat.

Does any one ever use their lighting to aim it at yourself and not into the audience???
If your good with technical equipment, and a handy-man/woman, you can buy or use your existing fog machine, and make "waterfall dumps" for it. Its hard to describe, but here I go!

Ok, what you do is you need flexible hose (the kind a vaccumn cleaner has) and you route it to a thinner pipe that you can hang from the ceiling. You then need to cut the pipe, longways, about 1/8 thick, the whole way down, and put and end cap on the other end. This works best with short pieces of pipe (4' works super for me). From the fog machine, you need to either take apart an ice chest, and have an input (the fog machine) and have a short hose from the output of the fog machine, to the cooler. You then need 1-4 outputs which run to the pipes. (The higher output, the more pipes you can have! Smiler ) Then you need small 120volt fans (radioshack, hobby place...) and drill/superglue/whatever works the fan to a hole the size of the hose output. Connect all the fans to one switch, and your almost done!!! Then, get the hoses that go from the "chest chamber" to the pipes. Paint the pipes black, and hang them with a strong fishing line. Hang all your pipes, and hoses, and place your chest high up. Now, you need a THICK fog fluid. R-O-S-C-O and HI-E-N-D make good waterbased ones. Fill your fogger, and test it. If it doesnt work super, make the hoses shorter, or take out a pipe output. Now if you have lasers, or intels, have them blackout, have the fog constantly spill out, and shine the lights on it. The gobo/design will be displayed onto the fog waterfall, and looks really cool. This only kinda works if you arent mobile, or if your putting on a really food show/party. Its a fun, but hard and challenging way you make an inexpensive neat effect. Do the same thing but with water, and no chamber (just garden hoses, Y-Splitters, and you have your own waterscreens. I have both, and they're both really good hits, and people compliment them a lot too. If you have a question on anything, Please FILL FREE TO E-MAIL ME! SuzukiMXRider1@aol.com Hvae fun!!! If you had a second person there controlling a DMX controller and a lighting setup where it was like a big square around your dj area and you were using tt's you could all of the sudden have a blackout and then have all of your lights (intells) be pointing at you from all direcions (hints the square set-up) while you scratch and them have them go into strobe mode and slowly move outward into the crowd.

Actually I did a Bar Mitzvah once and I had a "Mazel Tov" gobo in two of my moving yoke fixures (C*emar P*osp*ts) I had them hooked up to a Show Designer so every so often I would have the fixtures face me on the stage panning back and forth changing colors and strobing reading "Mazel Tov" across the back wall where i was playing...ocassionally I pointed the fixtures up to the ceiling and had them do the same thing. It looked pretty cool.
