Transferring programs between Pc's

Hi, I am new to my Dmx. Before I paid for the dongle I downloaded the software to have a play with it.
Because my home pc has a nice big 21 inch screen its a bit easier than a laptop. I installed all 17 fixtures and programmed a show how I would normally set the rig.
I downloaded the same software to my laptop, and transferred the program via memory stick to the laptop. All the scenes from my programme, remained but the fixture locations don't seem to have stored, so they appear for example as 8 led par cans bunched then 2 Quadzillas bunched, 4 Roboscans, etc rather than being spaced out on the rig as I had saved them. They do remain correct on the pc I created the show on. My roadie downloaded the software to have a play as he will be using it. I emailing the programme I had made to him thinking he would be able to load it into the software, and he would be able to create shows at home and send them to me. This dosn't seem to be the case. Any advice please.

Hi, yes when you viewed the sequence I had created on my home pc, on the 3D visualizer of my laptop, all the steps of the sequence where still there but the fixture positions were different, the same as my roadies pc when I emailed the sequence to him. When Transferring the sequence to another pc for some reason the fixture location on the truss moves. On the original sequence I have a 24 ft truss, on the bottom bar from left to right I have 1 x NJD Datamoon, 1 x Martin roboscan 812, 1 x equinox quadzilla, 1 x roboscan. 1 zx FX lab laser, 1 x roboscan, 1 x quadzilla, 1 x roboscan, 1 x datamoon. When transferred to the laptop it shows as example 4 x roboscan, 2 x datamoon, 2 x quadzilla, 1 x laser. I hope that isnt to confusing.

Hi, not had much time to play further but still having problems. A couple of nights ago I sat for 3 hours doing a program for a big show I have next week. I saved at regular intervals, Finished and closed down laptop. When I opened the program next day the same thing happened, the steps of the program where there but the positions were lost and that was on the same pc where as before I thought the issue was only happening when transferring between pc's.I rang adj in the USA yesterday and asked for a Uk helpline number but they didnt give it to me.

Also, you may have custom objects in the objects directory.

If you're going to install MyDMX on a second machine and do the work on say your desktop, but want to run it from your laptop, make sure you copy everything IN the creation machine's MyDMX directory(minus any executables).

In my case, I modified some 3D object, so I need to bring that back over every single time.

ALSO, I suggest you copy(NOT move) the profiles you use to your own profiles directory WITHIN the library directory. If you should ever have to send something to someone, it's easier to round it all up. Lastly, I save my shows and stages in a directory within the My Documents directory.
