I went Djing with one of my freinds cousins that do the lights at this company, and no matter what he did they still complained about the lights. he had 6 pocket scans, 2 vertigos, 2 750W strobes, a really big fogger, a emerald beam, a sunray 2, a lotus, 2 swivel beam 2, some black lights and a tempest 2! we couldnt believe it! thousands of dollars worth of lights and controllers, and they were still complaining! His company has a budget of $8000 to improve, so i thought I'd let you all have a go at impoving this light show.

Your kidding right.... If that is the case, trusth me you will hear from them again. There are more dj's with less equipment going out doing gig's. Once they call you back $$$ "well our price just recently when up one hundred... Give us a call back if your interested. That is alot of gear to haul. Smiler
Well GISO... This audience obviously doesn't know a good dj when they see one. They must be pretty spoiled if they still complained about that awesome light show of yours.... don't worry about idiots like them..... I would tell them to screw off and when they decide that they can't find a better dj, they will call you and just raise the price much higher, and see how THEY LIKE IT, HAHA.... that would be funny.
but yeah, i had that done to me to once and i know exactly how you feel man...

they were a bunch a really rich preepy kids, 14-18. they just plain old didnt like the lighting. they loved the music, but said that the lights blew. It's funny, cause the owner of the company is 22, and is one of those little rich kids. he still lives at home, so his dad gives him whatever he wants.
The complainers will ALWAYS complain. It's just the put down mentality. I'm curious about the source of the complaints- was just a couple of whiners, or did you get intelligent feedback from a group that had hired other DJ's? Don't go changing out thousands of $ of lights, because the complainers will then whine about the fog!

Some advice: If you've got a kick ass light show, next time you do this gig, hire a photographer to get some great shots and use these to market yourself to other groups.

Raise your price for the whiners- a lot.
