Hi! I have an American DJ DMX Operator control panel and a really nice 1500-watt strobe. It's been ID'ed, has 2 channels (strobing speed & brightness) and responds fine. Here's my question:

If I program a scene to have the strobe fire up, what can I do to kill it other than hitting blackout? I've tried switching to other scenes where it's either not used or I have programmed it to 0% speed and 0% brightness, but it doesn't like to stop. And yes, this is with Fade Time set to 0 seconds. Am I screwed or is there a trick I don't know about? Other than this, the operator has been perfect.

Thanks,
Gary

Yes, scene copying is quite easy on the ADJ-OP. But even after zero'ing out the strobe, it doesn't seem to make a difference. It seems my best bet is hitting the same scene again which kind of negates the scene and shuts down the fixture(s) without going into blackout. I guess my question now is, is there a better way to control a DMX strobe? Even if it's another controller? It seems like the ADJ-OP is best at exclusively operating intelligent lights and dimmer packs. Oh, one last thing, some of the sliders seem to be getting dirty and giving off a bad reading (the numeric value of the slider jumps around) so I'm thinking of taking it apart and using some "Contact Cleaner & Libricant" from radio shack. My main concern is the 'lube' this stuff leaves behind - is it helpful or hurtful? I suppose since two metals are constantly rubbing as you use the sliders, it can only help.. but would it leave a residue that affects the operation?

Thanks,
Gary
