Could anyone tell me whether, if controlled via DMX, the in-built shows and chase respond to Sound or whether they run at a fixed speed? There is nothing obvious about this in the instruction manual.

Looking at the DMX instructions, there is sound active strobe, or speed adjustment for show playback.

So you suspect that there is no sound active mode other than to strobe, which seems particularly strange. I just wondered whether in 1 channel mode with the fixture with the sound mode switched on through the control panel it might work. If not it seems peculiar that using the hand controller gives you more useful control than via DMX!

If it does, it's not spelled out very well in the manual. Depending on which mode you set the fixture, you have manual speed control over the pan, and manual speed control of the chases. It looks like it may be one of those things where you have connect the light and experiment.
